4th of July (Fireworks) is the second single by American R&B singer/songwriter Kelis, from, her upcoming fifth studio album, “Flesh Tone”, which was released on May 17, 2010 in the U.K. and July 6, 2010 in the U.S.
The track, produced by DJ Ammo, draws on Kelis’ strengths, featuring vocals that are full of pain, desire and longing that can only come from a woman who’s loved and lost many times before.
The video was co-directed by Kelis, John “Rankin” Waddell and Nicole Ehrlich in the desert outside of Los Angeles. The video depicts Kelis as the four natural elements (Earth, wind, water and fire). The video premiered on June 16th on Youtube and VEVO.
